Minimum Thickness Brake Lining Gauge
Minimum Thickness Brake Lining Gauge Safety First!
For continued safe operation of your aircraft’s wheels and brakes, Cleveland’s External Design brake linings (both organic and metallic) must be replaced when reaching a minimum thickness of .100 inches (2.54 mm).
Visual inspection of brake lining condition is simple with Cleveland’s Minimum Lining Thickness Gauge.
Using the Minimum Thickness Gauge
Simply place the gauge flat against the pressure plate or back plate.
If the lining is lower than the gauge, the linings are less than .100” and should be replaced.

Lining is Higher than Gauge
If the lining is higher than the gauge you are ok for take-off!

Lining is LOWER than Gauge
If the brake lining is lower than the minimum thickness gauge the lining(s) must be replaced as soon as possible.
